Trinity County is located deep in the heart of the piney woods of east Texas. Our county is bordered by two rivers. The Neches flows along the north boundary and the Trinity on the south boundary. With the 90,000-acre fishing hole called Lake Livingston to the south and 67,000 acres of the Davy Crockett National Forest on the north end, Trinity County provides an endless range of activities for everyone.
A wide variety of wildlife exists on the Davy Crockett National Forest. Principal game includes squirrel, deer, quail, dove, turkey, and waterfowl. The red-cockaded woodpecker, an endangered species, lives within carefully managed habitat on the forest.
